Drill Bits Begin To Spin In Sub-Saharan Africa's Latest Frontier Play

2011 looks set to be a landmark year for Liberia's nascent oil sector as the country's first wells are drilled and more deepwater acreage is put up for grabs. If these efforts prove successful, Liberia could emulate nearby Ghana, which entered the club of oil-producing nations in late-2010 just three years after the major Jubilee discovery. If early exploration efforts disappoint, however, investor interest may wane.
