Ambitious LNG Export Plans Felled, As Wary Investors Steer Clear

Venezuela's gas sector is in dire straits. Worsening shortages at home and an inability to attract investors to fund its ambitious export scheme have seen LNG projects shelved. We had forecast that LNG export could begin as early as 2015; however, with those plans now on hold indefinitely, our next revision does not anticipate any LNG exports across the duration of our 10-year forecast period.
