Risky Refinery Relocation Could Profit From Financial Incentives
November 2011 | Industry NewsBMI View: Amerind Petroleum has signed a memorandum of understanding that will see the company relocate and reassemble Sunoco's Eagle Ford refinery in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The low complexity refinery is incapable of processing India's traditional feedstock and is a risky investment. However, it is relatively cheap when compared to similarly-located projects, and financial incentives from the state of Andhra Pradesh and the American Export-Import bank could make it a rewarding gamble.
