Fuel Subsidy Reform Will Prove A Hard Sell
January 2012 | Industry NewsBMI View: The Indonesian government's proposal to reform the country's popular fuel subsidies is unlikely to be adopted by the parliament unless an alternative to expensive liberalised fuel prices are offered. One option, the development of gas fuels is not, in our view, a viable alternative, and we therefore believe that the reform - in its current iteration - will prove to be a very difficult sell.
