BASF Agreement Strengthens RAPID Refinery Momentum

BMI View: The signing of a heads of agreement between German petrochemicals giant BASF and Malaysia's state-owned Petronas suggests the RAPID refinery project is gaining momentum. Despite growing downstream competition from numerous projects in the region, we believe RAPID has the potential to thrive. However, we have not included it in our Malaysia forecasts, pending a final investment decision.
