Fraccing Gets The All-Clear As Report Highlights Huge Offshore Shale Potential

A report commissioned by the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has recommended that hydraulic fracturing, or fraccing, operations should resume in the UK subject to careful monitoring. The findings are good news for Cuadrilla Resources the UK independent leading the charge in Britain's nascent shale industry. Just as onshore exploration looks set to resume, a study by the British Geological Society (BGS) has pointed to the country's vast offshore shale potential. However, unless oil prices soar and technology quickly improves, those resources look set to remain untapped.
