Instability Demands Post-Recovery Strategy
July 2012 | Industry NewsBMI View: Libyan production figures continue to point to its incredible upstream recovery. However, continued instability threatens this momentum and is a particular danger to crucial reforms which could be implemented after the July 7 2012 elections. The authorities' obsessive focus on output could also prove self-defeating in a time of falling prices. Therefore, we expect Libya's next leaders to eventually re-focus the country's strategy on finding the right balance between production and prices so as to maximise the nation's export revenues.
