Shale Gale Hits Wales

BMI View: UK independent Coastal Oil & Gas has been granted a licence to explore for shale gas in south-west Wales. It will conduct coring and logging operations in the Vale of Glamorgan mainly targeting lower limestone formations. While unlikely to make waves through the industry, the project shows that interest in the UK's significant shale gas potential remains despite the current moratorium on horizontal fracturing operations.
