BMI View: First gas at the Clipper South offshore gas field is good news for the UK, as the government seeks to breathe new life into its declining oil and gas sector. More brownfield and greenfield production will be required, however, if the UK is to move beyond just slowing falling production rates and stemming reserves depletion.
