Who's Who in the Qatari Energy Sector

The oil and gas sector is state-controlled through Qatar Petroleum, which is responsible for exploration and production. National Oil Distribution Company (NODCO) is in charge of refining and distribution. Qatar Liquefied Gas Company (QatarGas) and Ras Laffan LNG Company (RasGas) are responsible for the production and marketing of LNG. The state controls virtually all aspects of the energy sector, sets policy and determines domestic pricing. Qatar Petroleum (QP) itself accounts for 50% of national oil production and almost 40% of gas volumes.
