Russneft Still In the Game for Israel Refinery

Russia's independent oil company Russneft joins four domestic companies vying to buy Israel's US$380mn Ashod refinery in the final bidding ground. Russneft, the only foreign energy player to participate in the round, is bidding jointly with Israel's Manofim Finances. The Hebrew state's four fuels marketing companies of Paz Fuel, Delek Group, Sonol and Dor Alon are taking part. Amal Corporation, owned by local businessman Yossi Maiman who currently enjoys a 25% stake in Egyptian-Israeli venture East Mediterranean Gas (EMG), dropped out after concerns were raised by Israeli anti-trust authorities regarding a potential conflict of interest between EMG and Ashod in
