Bulgarian Negotiations To Be More Sedate
April 2006 | Contract NewsReports emerging from Bulgaria suggest that Russian gas monopoly Gazprom wishes to renegotiate its gas supply contracts with the government, raising fears of price increases in the import-dependent country. Bulgaria is dependent on imports for the majority of its gas and will suffer from any increase in prices. However, Gazprom, perhaps recognising the public relations disaster that was the Ukrainian gas dispute earlier this year, is proposing a series of palliative measures alongside the renegotiated contracts.
