Petronas Keeps Them Coming with LNG

In what marks its second major liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply deal in a month, the LNG subsidiary of Malaysian national energy company Petronas inked a deal with Japan's third largest power company, Chubu Electric Power, to sell it 540,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) of LNG from 2011 for the next two decades. The deal follows closely on the heels of another one with Japan's second-biggest gas company to supply it with 920,000 tonnes of LNG per year for the next 15 years beginning in April 2009, with the possibility of a five year extension.
