China Set to Get First North West LNG
May 2006 | Contract NewsDespite the failure of the Gorgon liquefied natural gas (LNG) initiative, China is still looking to Australia as an important source of gas supplies, with the first cargo of LNG from the country's North West Shelf project due to arrive in China this month. The shipment comes as part of a deal inked between China National Offshore Oil (CNC) and North West Shelf operators back in 2002 for 3.3mn tonnes per annum (tpa) of LNG for the next 25 years. The LNG will be shipped to China's Dapeng Bay, home to the energy giant's first LNG
