Suspicious Pipeline Incidents Threaten Peru's Explosive Gas Growth

A series of ruptures in the Camisea gas and gas liquids pipelines has led to concerns over the network's security and its suitability as an outlet for the huge increase in output expected to come from the Camisea gas project. The latest incident occurred in Cuzco province when a section of the pipeline ruptured, causing a fire that injured three local residents. The Peruvian government announced an immediate investigation to assuage fears of a concerted campaign to hinder Camisea's growth.
