ONGC Abandons Rajasthan Refinery Plans

In an apparent setback for the Cairn Energy-operated Rajasthan oil project, India's state-controlled Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is said to have placed on hold plans to build a 150,000 barrels per day (b/d) refinery near Barmer to handle crude oil produced in Rajasthan state, citing costs estimated at US$1.96bn.
