Additional Output Little Help For Indonesia

Indonesia will see additional output of 24,250 barrels per day (b/d) in August, momentarily stemming the country's downward spiral of dwindling production and rising imports. The new production is scant relief for a government struggling to come to terms with its new position as one of the world's net importers of hydrocarbons. Despite still being a member of the exporter's cartel OPEC, the country last year consumed 1.16mn barrels per day (b/d) but only produced 1.08mn b/d.
