Petronas Unit Wins Petroleum Block

PC Lampung II, a unit of Malaysian national oil company Petroliam Nasional-Bhd (Petronas), has been awarded a new offshore petroleum block in Indonesia, raising the total number of its blocks in the country to nine. The production sharing contract (PSC) for Lampung II block was signed last week in Jakarta. The block measures about 4,168sq km and is located around 150km off the south-eastern coast of Sumatra. Under the contract, PC Lampung II will acquire, process and interpret 250sq km of three-dimensional seismic data.
