Near Record LNG Imports For Europe
October 2006 | Industry NewsEuropean imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) are nearing record levels as the continent makes ready to meet peak winter demand. Import terminals in Spain, Belgium, Britain and elsewhere are operating at full capacity to receive cargoes attracted by European prices that remain higher than those offered in the US market, though are lower than levels in Asia. The Developed Europe region last year consumed 436bn cubic metres (bcm) of natural gas, with demand of 519bcm forecast for 2010, representing 19.2% growth.
