CNC Gas & Power To Buy 25mn Tonnes Of LNG Annually By 2010

CNC Gas & Power Company, a unit of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNC), has said that it will import 25mn tonnes per year (tpa) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) by 2010 in order to meet rapidly growing demand for the fuel. Gas currently accounts for only slightly more than 3% of total energy consumption in China, but that share is expected to treble between 2004 and 2010.
