US Companies Face Growing Competition In Algeria

Algerian Oil Minister Chakib Khelil has warned US oil companies that the growing interest of Chinese and Indian producers in accessing Algerian oil will make it harder for US firms to compete. Speaking at a conference in Egypt, Khelil highlighted the fact that state-controlled Chinese and Indian companies, with access to government funds, are making inroads into the Algerian upstream and are likely to outspend US firms in their efforts to acquire exploration licences and development deals.
