As well as being the leading oil and gas producer in Qatar, Qatar Petroleum (QP) controls the downstream segment, is active in liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports, gas-to-liquid (GTL) sites and petrochemicals facilities. It has partnerships with most leading international oil companies (IOCs) and is fast becoming one of the world's most important gas suppliers. With a wealth of under-utilised gas resources, QP can be expected to expand fast gas-related industries as well as export schemes. This will reduce its dependence on OPEC-governed oil volumes and lead to dramatic revenue
