Chevron Discovery Boosts Western Australia Potential
November 2006 | Project NewsUS oil major Chevron announced a significant gas discovery in the Greater Gorgon area on November 9. Though further work will be required to ascertain the potential of the Clio-1 exploration well, it could potentially feed the Gorgon project, which aims to export liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the US and Japan from 2010, thereby limiting Australia's net import requirements over the medium term.
