A Three Pronged Strategy To Increase Energy Supply
December 2006 | Industry NewsIndonesia, which has recently become a net oil importer and is considering downgrading to observer status at the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), has set in motion a tripartite approach to address declining oil output from its mature fields, to expand its international E&P portfolio and to strengthen its position in the global liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry. This strategy involves awarding exploration licences to international oil companies (IOCs), applying for drilling rights overseas and building additional LNG infrastructure.
