CNPC Buys EnCana's Chad Operations
January 2007 | Industry NewsCanadian energy producer EnCana has sold all its operations in Chad to China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), China's largest oil producer which is majority state-owned. The deal, worth US$202.5mn, highlights the uncertain operating environment in Chad for western oil companies, at a time when China is actively courting the state.
