Growth Of Iranian Crude Supplies To China
March 2007 | Industry NewsIran was the largest supplier of crude to China in January this year, with imports almost trebling from December 2006's level, according to new figures released by the General Administration of Customs. Shipments from Iran nearly trebled from around 180,000 barrels per day (b/d) in December to 513,333b/d in January, a 13% increase year-on-year (y-o-y). This follows last month's statement from the Ministry of Commerce that China's crude demand rose 9.3% in 2006 and imports of crude and oil products grew by 20% to 3.27mn b/d, or around 47% of total demand.
