Alaskan Government Announces Pipeline Incentive Plan

The governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, has brought in a new natural gas pipeline law as a preliminary move in a plan to deliver large quantities of Alaskan gas from the North Slope reserves to the main US consuming regions. The multibillion dollar pipeline project, which is provoking much discussion by politicians, regulators and oil company executives, could be a substantial instrument in reducing US dependence on imports.
