Thai Exploration Round Set For May
April 2007 | Industry NewsThailand's energy ministry is to offer 65 onshore and offshore blocks for exploration in May. The country's 20th exploration licensing round, which will last for one year, covers an area of 235,576sq km, according to Minister Piyasvasti Amranand. 56 blocks are onshore, with the remainder situated in the Gulf of Thailand. The Department of Mineral Fuels has said that it is targeting US$85mn of investment over the next three years, and that government revenue from oil and gas activities should reach THB91.55bn (US$2.8bn).
