Philippines Launches Exploration Bidding Round

The Philippine Department of Energy (DOE) is putting nine oil and gas exploration blocks up for auction in its third energy contracting round. The DOE expects 20 consortia to submit bids and is hoping that the blocks will attract around US$360mn in investment, according to energy undersecretary Guillermo R. Balce. The winners of the round will be announced in July.
