US Senate Considers Energy Incentives

The US Senate is debating a review of energy policy in the light of rising gasoline prices, mounting concern over US dependence on foreign sources of oil and an increasing sense of urgency in the need to reduce carbon emissions and tackle climate change. The bill currently under debate, which is being promoted by Democrat politicians, proposes several initiatives to reduce oil consumption and substantially to increase the use of alternative fuels both in transportation and power generation.
