South Stream Adds To European Pipeline Options
June 2007 | Industry NewsItaly's Eni and Russia's state-controlled Gazprom have announced that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to investigate the feasibility of 'South Stream', a new project to transport Russian gas across the Black Sea to European customers. The news highlights Russia's determination to remain the principal supplier of gas to Europe, as progress on the rival Nabucco pipeline remains slow.
