PdVSA Begins Deepwater Search

Venezuelan state-owned Petróleos de Venezuela (PdVSA) has announced that it is about to start deepwater exploration offshore Cuba alongside Cuba's state-owned Cupet . On one level, the news highlights growing intra-regional energy ties. However, of potentially greater long term significance is that it marks PdVSA's first foray into deepwater exploration.
