Korea Expands Self-Sufficiency Plans

South Korea has updated its overseas resources development plan and now aims to achieve self-sufficiency - defined as ownership of natural resources by Korean firms - of close to 30% by 2016. The move makes strategic sense, but greater investment may be required given strong upstream competition globally.
