El Paso Acquires Peoples Energy Production

Houston-based pipeline and E&P operator El Paso has announced that it will purchase Peoples Energy Production Company from Integrys Energy Group for US$875mn. The move should strengthen El Paso's upstream activities and will be primarily funded via the company's ongoing divestiture programme.
