Mitsui Takes Stake Offshore Mozambique
February 2008 | Industry NewsJapan's Mitsui has announced that it has acquired a 20% interest in the Rovuma Offshore Area 1 block in Mozambique. Newly-created unit Mitsui E&P Mozambique Area 1 bought the stake from US independent Anadarko Petroleum. A Mitsui spokesman said the deal was worth around JPY15bn (US$141mn), including the purchasing of the stake, exploration and other costs.
