Chevron's Platong Gas II Project Gets Assent

US major Chevron has given the go-ahead to the US$3.1bn Platong Gas II project offshore Thailand. The project, located in shallow water 200km offshore in the Gulf of Thailand, will produce some 4.3bn cubic metres (bcm) of gas per year from 2011, boosting the country's gas production by almost 18% from 2006 levels.
