Refining Capacity Expansion Plans Announced

As part of its strategy to boost refining capacity, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) has announced plans to build a 200,000 barrel per day (b/d) oil refinery in Huludao, in the north-western Liaoning Province. No details of estimated costs have been revealed and the project still requires government approval, but the news suggests potential upside risks to BMI's forecasts of Chinese refining capacity expansion.
