Vietnam Doubles Crude Export Tax

The Vietnamese government has doubled the tariff on crude oil exports as part of its efforts to reduce budget deficits and ensure adequate supplies for its expanding petroleum and petrochemical industries. According to a statement by a finance ministry official, the tax will rise from 4% to 8% with immediate effect from April 22.
