Eni Seals A Deal With Suez To Acquire Distrigas

Italian major Eni has signed a EUR2.7bn agreement with French utility Suez to buy its majority (57.243%) share of Distrigas, its Belgian gas trading arm. The sale, which is expected to close by the end of 2008, is subject to the approval of the European Commission (EC) and the completion of the merger of Gaz de France (GdF) and Suez.
