August 2008 | Industry NewsAlthough in November 2007 Iraq's oil ministry spokesman Assem Jihad told Reuters that 'all the contracts made or signed during the Saddam era were cancelled', it now seems that Baghdad is close to signing a contract with China for the Ahbad field, for development of which China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) originally signed a production sharing agreement (PSA) in 1997.
