Onshore Taranaki: Winning Bids Announced

The New Zealand government has awarded nine new onshore exploration permits in the Taranaki Basin following a bidding round that closed on May 30 2008. The majority of blocks were awarded to privately owned local companies that have existing interests in the Taranaki Basin, although a number of Australian companies were also awarded licences. In total over 20 bids were received, with only one block failing to attract any bids.
