Boost To Crude Output As Galoc Comes Onstream

Oil production has started at the Galoc field offshore the Philippines, the country's first oil field development in 16 years. The field, near Palawan island around 350km south-west of Manila, will eventually produce up to 20,000 barrels per day (b/d), equivalent to 6.5% of the country's estimated 2008 crude demand. This should allow the Philippines to reduce its oil import bill
