Naimi Says Khurais To Come Onstream In Mid-2009

Saudi Arabian oil minister Ali Al-Naimi has said the 1.2mn barrel per day (b/d) Khurais oil field development will start producing in June 2009. Naimi was speaking following the October 24 emergency meeting of the member states of the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in Vienna, where the group opted to cut crude oil production in order to bring supply in line with falling demand and to stem falling oil prices.
