Total Looks To Up Output From OML 58
November 2008 | Industry NewsFrench major Total's Nigerian subsidiary Total E&P Nigeria (TEPNG) has started its OML 58 upgrade project. While the security situation in the Niger Delta remains a concern for international oil companies (IOCs) operating in the region, its resource potential remains a strong lure to investors. BMI expects Nigerian oil output to increase from 2.3mn barrels per day (b/d) in 2008 to 2.9mn b/d in 2012, with gas set to rise from 40bn cubic metres (bcm) to 70bcm over the same period.
