Kazakhstan To Cut Crude And Fuel Oil Export Duties
November 2008 | Industry NewsThe government of Kazakhstan is considering cutting crude oil export tariffs by 34% in a move to boost the profit margins of domestic producers. Energy minister Sauat Mynbayev told a government meeting on November 10 that the Ministry of Industry and Trade had drawn up draft regulations to cut the export duty on crude oil from US$210 per tonne to US$139/tonne and reduce the fuel oil export duty from US$130/tonne to US$95/tonne. No details have been revealed as to when the new rates would come into effect.
