TAQA Goes Ahead With Bergermeer

The consortium developing the Bergermeer gas storage facility has made a final investment decision (FID) on the project, committing EUR800mn (US$1.2bn) for the first phase of development. With capacity to store 4bn cubic metres (bcm) of working gas and hold 4.6bcm of cushion gas, Bergermeer will overtake the Rehden plant in Germany to become Western Europe's largest gas storage facility.
