Calderón Takes On Energy Reform Opponents

Mexico's pro-business President Felipe Calderón is pushing ahead with the liberalisation of the state-monopolised energy sector despite growing political opposition. His administration is seeking to broaden the limited energy reforms enacted in October 2008 by developing performance-based upstream service contracts and introducing foreign investment in the oil refining sector.
