Jakarta To Scrap Limits On Cost Recovery To Spur Investment

The Indonesian government has announced plans to remove caps on its cost recovery scheme for explorers as it attempts to tackle falling investment in its upstream segment. As oil production continues to decline, the government is under increasing pressure to enhance investment terms for international oil companies (IOCs) in order to support the oil and gas sector, which contributes around 30% of state revenues.
