Talisman Bets On Shale

Calgary-based independent Talisman Energy is pinning its growth prospects on US shale, gradually moving away from its conventional North American oil and gas roots. Under a 2010 investment plan unveiled by the company on January 11, Talisman has earmarked a third of its capital expenditure (capex) for shale properties, while outlining plans to divest more conventional Canadian assets.
