Conoco Plans US$13bn Ekofisk Spend

A consortium of oil majors led by Texas-based ConocoPhillips is planning to invest as much US$13bn to prolong the life of the Greater Ekofisk oil fields off Norway. The investment proposal, submitted to the authorities on March 12, would be one of the largest secondary recovery projects in the Norwegian North Sea, underlining the area's ongoing attractiveness to investors.
